Stainless steel butt-weld fittings for welded pipe runs. Review the full variety below; a listed form is a specification pathway, not a promise that every grade, size or pattern is in stock.

Grades and material identification

Ask about 304/304L, 316/316L, 321, 310/310S, 904L and duplex grades such as 2205, where the product form and applicable material standard support them. For butt-weld fittings, ASTM A403 covers common austenitic grades; duplex material may call for ASTM A815. Forged fitting material standards vary (for example, ASTM A182 for suitable forged grades). The grade name alone does not establish a certificate or product standard. Confirm the actual heat, certificate and service requirements.

Fitting varieties

FormTypical variantsWhat to specify
Elbows: 45°, 90°, 180° returnsLong-radius and short-radius where the dimensional standard covers the form.NPS, angle, LR/SR, schedule, bevel; ASME B16.9.
Tees and crossesEqual and reducing branches; crosses subject to the applicable drawing and standard.Run and outlet NPS, wall/schedule and branch orientation.
ReducersConcentric or eccentric; choose eccentric orientation for line drainage/clearance.Large/small-end NPS, wall at both ends and end preparation.
Caps and stub endsEnd closures, lap-joint stub ends (short/long pattern as specified).NPS, wall, stub-end type/length, matching flange face.
Bends and return bendsLong-radius pipeline bends; 180° returns under applicable dimensional rules.Bend angle, center-line radius, tangent length, ovality and drawing.
Laterals and custom branchesFabricated/wrought branch geometry where the project calls for it.Branch angle, reinforcement/design code, drawing and inspection.

Size, wall and rating

ASME B16.9 gives dimensions for many factory-made wrought butt-weld forms; its published scope is NPS 1/2 through NPS 48, but a particular fitting, grade and wall may have a narrower available range. Specify NPS or DN, wall schedule/thickness, end bevel and tolerances. MSS SP-43 is a distinct low-pressure corrosion-resistant fitting practice; it is not interchangeable with B16.9 for every service. Do not assume a pressure class from size alone.

Send a complete enquiry

Include material grade and product material standard; form and connection; size of every end; schedule or wall thickness; pressure class or design pressure/temperature; finish and tolerance; quantity; requested certificate/inspection; and delivery destination. For fabricated bends, outlets and unusual patterns, attach a dimensioned drawing. We check actual stock, feasible sourcing and paperwork for the item quoted.
